CBI Arrests Aizawl Man in Shocking Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Case

Aizawl 9 June,2025-The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a man from Aizawl, Mizoram, on June 9, 2025, in connection with a grave case involving the sexual assault of a minor and the possession and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
The case was registered on May 30, 2025, based on credible inputs alleging that the accused was involved in creating, collecting, storing, and uploading explicit content featuring minors. He was also found to be in possession of pornographic content involving children, in violation of strict provisions under Indian law.
On June 4, 2025, the CBI conducted searches at the accused’s residence, seizing several electronic devices. Forensic analysis of these devices uncovered a large volume of CSAM—both images and videos. The materials were verified against INTERPOL’s International Child Sexual Exploitation (ICSE) database and matched with Cyber Tipline Reports (CTRs) generated by Google and forwarded to the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs.
The accused remains in custody as investigations continue to uncover the full extent of the abuse and identify other potential victims and collaborators. Through forensic analysis of digital content, authorities uncovered evidence of a minor child being sexually assaulted by the accused in Aizawl. Acting swiftly and with precision, the CBI successfully identified, located, and rescued the victim. Further investigation revealed that the child had been subjected to threats and exploitation, coerced into the creation of CSAM by the accused.
This case was proactively detected by the CBI on a Suo motu basis, as neither the victim nor their family had previously reported the incidents to law enforcement. The operation underscores the critical role of cyber intelligence, forensic technology, and international collaboration in identifying and safeguarding victims of such heinous crimes.
Reaffirming its unwavering commitment to justice, the CBI remains resolute in its pursuit of perpetrators of child sexual abuse. Citizens are urged to report any relevant information or suspicions to the appropriate authorities.
