CBI Arrests A Sanitary Supervisor of Jammu Municipal Corporation for Demanding and Accepting Bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sanitary Supervisor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (J&K) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000/- from the complainant.
          CBI registered a case on a complaint in this regard. It was alleged that the Sanitary Supervisor, Jammu Municipal Corporation has demanded a bribe of Rs.50,000/- @ Rs.5000/- for the last 10 months from complainant for allowing him to join the duties. It was further alleged that the complainant (a Safai Karmchari of Jammu Municipal Corporation) had not paid the bribe, as such, the accused was not marking his attendance and had not allowed him to work. The accused allegedly agreed to accept Rs. 45,000/- after negotiation.

          CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding & accepting Rs. 5,000/- as 1st installment of said bribe. Searches were carried out at the office & residential premises of the accused at Jammu.

          The accused was produced before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jammu and was remanded to Judicial Custody.
