C. Damodar Reddy Appointed AICC Co-Ordinator

Senior Advocate Challa Damoddar Reddy has been appointed as co-ordinator of AICC, Legal Human Rights and RTI Department for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
He has been actively practicing since last 35 years in High Court of AP and after bifurcation of the State, now practicing in High Court of Telangana and High Court of Andhra Pradesh.
C. Damodar Reddy is a founder President of Telangana lawyers Association (TLA), which was formed in the year 1997 questioning the discrimination of Telangana Lawyers in the appointments of Judges, Law Officers / Standing Counsels in High Court, when he was a Secretary of A.P. High Court Advocates’ Association. The TLA has organized thousands of Lawyers in Telangana Region claiming 40% share of posts of Judges, Law Officers and Standing Counsels and which also instrumental in formation of the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) by Sri K. Chandra Shekar Rao.
He played an important role in strengthening the TRS and the movement for separate Statehood for Telangana. Later Mr. Reddy joined in Congress Party in 2005 under the able leadership of Dr. Y. S. Rajashekara Reddy, the then Chief Minister and worked for the party.
He was initially appointed as Vice-Chairman of Legal Cell, APCC in the year 2009 and subsequently he was appointed as Chairman, Legal Cell, APCC in the year 2013. After bifurcation of the State, he continued as Chairman, Legal Cell, TPCC upto 2017. Mr. Reddy was again appointed as Chairman, Legal, Human Rights and RTI Department, TPCC in the year 2017 and worked upto 2022. During his tenure as Chairman of Legal Department of Congress Party, Sri C. Damodar Reddy has conducted several meetings of Lawyers at State Level and District wise to strengthen the party and defended several Criminal cases of Leaders and Cadre and also filed Public Interest Litigations (PILs) on the important issues like Restoration of Dharna Chowk, against the serious lapses in the Marks Sheets of Intermediate course, which lead to committal of suicides by 32 students and obtained direction to upload the answer sheets of lakhs of students in the website of Intermediate Board, enabling the students to down load and verify their answer sheets and for removal of Vice-Chancellor of Hyderabad Central University who was the responsible for the suicide of a Research Scholar Mr. Rohith Vemula and also on the misuse of hundreds of crores of public money in Pattiseema Irrigation Project, by the then State government lead by TDP.
He was elected as President of Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association during the year 2018-19 and played a vital role in bifurcation of the common High Court and in constitution of separate High Court for Telangana State on 01-01-2019. Mr. Reddy has organized a State level Seminar on “Save Telangana-Change Telangana” against the autocratic rule of KCR and the anti-people policies of the TRS lead State Government.
