B Vinod Kumar, Vice Chairman, Telangana State Planning Board & K Ramakrishna Rao, IAS, Principal Secretary, Finance addressed the Newly Recruited Junior Assistants, who are undergoing an Induction Training Program at Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana.

Both of them stated, with a sense of pride that the innovative initiatives, conceptualized and executed, under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, made Telangana a leader in multiple domains, which can be emulated by other States, from across the country.

B Vinod Kumar said that in the combined State of Andhra Pradesh people suffered on account of long spells of load shedding. However, he said that the Telangana State has addressed this menace successfully and thereby emerged as an electricity-surplus State. He stated that while the irrigation projects were instrumental in finding an enduring solution to the problems of water scarcity, the big push to education, especially through residential mode, and launching of an array of welfare schemes resulted in multifarious achievements in the social sector. He stated that transfer of money to the accounts of farmers as a part of Rythu Bandhu scheme and the resultant money circulation in the rural economy, even during the pandemic times, not only made Telangana State Number One in the country in producing paddy but also brought in its wake a wide range of beneficial outcomes.

K Ramakrishna Rao, IAS paid rich tributes to the employees of Telangana State for their hard work during the pandemic times in successfully transferring money to the accounts of lakhs of households, which involved extensive coordination with multiple stakeholders, including different wings of Government, Banks, National Payments Corporation of India, etc. He stated that in future the dependence of people on agriculture will reduce and they will migrate to urban areas. He, therefore, underlined the need for formulation of more and more schemes of self-employment and entrepreneurship for them. He added that in the contemporary world of work, possessing merely technical skills is not enough. “Learning and perfecting the art of people-related soft skills, on a continuous basis, is the sine qua non for achieving the cherished goals of governance”, he added.

Sri Harpreet Singh, IAS, DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute & Principal Secretary to Government said that while introduction of high-end technology for the delivery of good governance is important in its own right, the need of the hour is its full acceptance by employees and its use in their day-to-day work.

Dr Ravulapati Madhavi, Course Director & Associate Professor of Law proposed a vote of thanks.
