Apex Court to Hear Today Plea Seeking CBI Probe into Alleged Attack on Mamta Banerjee

Apex Court scheduled to hear the plea seeking directions to CBI to investigate the incident at Nandigra injuring West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee on March 10th 2021.
According to the Chief Minister Mumta Banerjee and her party Trinomial Congress the incident was an attack to keep her off the field in the run up to the high-voltage election. She has since been using a wheelchair for all her campaign rallies across the state.
The pleas was filed by three Utter Pradesh lawyers. Besides seeking a probe the petitioners also sought the issuance of guidelines for investigations of similar incidents affecting the election machinery.
On March 10, 2021; Mumta Banerjee sustained injuries on her left leg and waist as she fell on the ground after she was allegedly pushed by unknown miscreants while campaigning for assembly election in Nandi gram.
It is further submitted that not even police officials were present 4-5 people intentionally man handled me in presence of public, no local police was present at the programme not even SP.It was definitely a conspiracy.
That due to these claims, Election Commission of India was targeted for making changes which has led to the happening of such incident.
Since that attack on Mumta Banerjee the political atmosphere in West Bengal has been one filled with allegations and counter allegations by different political parties. The ruling party TMC has claimed that there has been a deep-rooted conspiracy against them and the BJP has called for investigations. The air in West Bengal is filled with parties spewing vitriol on each other.
It is also submitted in the petition that the outcome of the present Petition would benefit all the Citizens of India who believe that their right to vote ushers in a participative democracy.
