Ahmedabad,23, January,2025. In a major step towards urban development and sustainability, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs. 651 Crore, initiated by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The grand event, which took place today, was graced by Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and several distinguished dignitaries.

Key Highlights of the Inauguration:

During his address, Shri Amit Shah emphasized the importance of long-term planning in addressing the evolving needs of the community. He spoke about the newly initiated development projects that aim to transform the city’s infrastructure and ensure sustainable growth. “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision is always future-focused, planning for the next 25 years to ensure the well-being of future generations,” he said.

Transforming Ranip with New Infrastructure and Green Initiatives:

A key focus of today’s event was the development of Ranip, an area that has faced significant infrastructure challenges. Shri Shah highlighted the construction of a major road in Ranip by AMC, which he described as a transformative project that would dramatically change the landscape of the area. The road will also enhance connectivity for residents of neighboring localities like Naranpura, Vadaj, Chandlodia, and Ghatlodia, thus improving daily commuting for thousands.

Additionally, Shri Shah unveiled the plan to construct amusement parks and markets on both sides of this road, providing recreational and commercial spaces for the local communities.

Rainwater Harvesting and Solar Energy for a Sustainable Future:

In a bid to address the growing environmental challenges, Shri Amit Shah introduced a pioneering initiative for sustainable water management in Ranip. The construction of stepwells (Bavdis) for rainwater harvesting will begin in over 350 societies in the region, a move aimed at ensuring a steady water supply while mitigating the effects of climate change. The project will be fully funded by the Central Government, the State Government, and AMC, with no financial burden on the societies themselves.

Shri Shah also encouraged residents to adopt the Pradhan Mantri Solar Rooftop Yojana (PM Surya Ghar), launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This scheme, which promotes the installation of solar panels on rooftops, aims to help households save on electricity costs while contributing to cleaner, renewable energy generation. Highlighting the long-term benefits of these projects, Shri Shah noted that they are designed to combat rising temperatures, manage climate change, and secure water resources for the future.

Looking Ahead: Comprehensive Development by 2029:

Shri Shah assured the residents that the overall development of Ranip and surrounding areas would be completed by 2029, creating a modern, well-connected, and sustainable neighborhood. In a significant move, he also announced the completion of long-pending development projects in Chainpur and D Cabin, which will reduce travel time and enhance accessibility between these areas and Ranip.

Support for Anganwadi Children and Nutrition Programs:

In addition to the infrastructure initiatives, Shri Shah introduced a new scheme to provide milk to girls in the region, aimed at improving nutrition for children in Anganwadis. He called for more community involvement in adopting Anganwadis, a program that has already seen success in Gandhinagar, where 30% of Anganwadis are now supported by local residents.

A Vision for the Future:

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for their unwavering commitment to development in Gujarat, Shri Shah lauded the ongoing projects that are transforming the region. He urged the public to participate in these initiatives, not only for the betterment of their own lives but also to contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous future for generations to come.

In closing, Shri Amit Shah invited people to visit the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, calling it a once-in-a-lifetime experience and the world’s largest religious gathering, underscoring the importance of cultural and spiritual connections.
