Ghaziabad, January 29, 2026: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Academy today held the Passing Out Parade of its largest-ever batch, with 134 newly trained Sub-Inspectors formally completing their rigorous basic training. CBI Director Shri Praveen Sood presided over the ceremony as Chief Guest, marking the culmination of an intensive programme that began in May 2025 and covered law, investigation skills, anti-corruption probes, economic offences, cybercrime, bank frauds, and forensic sciences.

As part of their rigorous training, the Sub-Inspectors were not only taught in classrooms but also given extensive field exposure.

Attachments and study visits were organized to a wide range of institutions and organizations, including various CBI branches, courts, local police stations, the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

These visits were designed to provide the trainees with practical insights into the functioning of investigative and regulatory bodies, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.

The basic course itself was structured to in-still in the officers the highest standards of professional integrity, respect for human rights and values, and a strong sense of discipline—qualities considered essential for their future responsibilities in the CBI.

Addressing the Passing Out Parade, CBI Director Shri Praveen Sood congratulated the graduating officers on successfully completing this demanding programme. He acknowledged the crucial role played by their families, whose support and encouragement had enabled the trainees to reach this milestone.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Shri Sood noted that this was the largest Sub-Inspector batch in the history of the CBI Academy, with 134 officers, including 18 women.

He expressed satisfaction at the growing representation of women officers, which he said reflected the organization’s commitment to gender diversity and inclusivity.

The Director also praised the Academy’s consistent pursuit of excellence in training, pointing out that it had recently been awarded a prestigious 5-star rating by the Capacity Building Commission.

This recognition, he said, was a testament to the Academy’s high institutional standards and its dedication to preparing officers capable of meeting the complex challenges of modern investigation.

Addressing the newly inducted officers, Director CBI emphasized that training does not end with the Passing Out Parade, rather, real learning begins in the field.

Officers were urged to adopt a mindset of lifelong learning, as policing involves continuously evolving challenges with no fixed syllabus.

Highlighting the importance of technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern investigations, Shri Sood encouraged the Officers to leverage technology-particularly AI as a tool to assist and accelerate investigations, especially in handling large volumes of digital data, while reaffirming that technology is an aid and not a replacement for human judgment.

During the ceremony, Director, CBI also distributed Medals and Trophies to the outstanding trainees, recognizing their exceptional performance. Sh.
