Criminal Code in Motion: Railway Police Enforce Section 103 BNS in Murder Arrest

Hyderabad, September 23, 2025: In a swift and vigilant operation carried out at approximately 9:00 AM today, Sri B. Praveen Kumar, IRP of Hyderabad, along with his team comprising Narsing Rathod (RHC 41), Sri G. Kumar (RHC 15), Sri Shakeel Pasha (RPC 129), Ismail Shareef (RPC 348), and staff from Lingampalli Post led by Ravi, IPF/LPI, conducted a routine criminal check at Fathenagar Railway Station. During the search, officers identified an individual acting suspiciously, bearing visible injuries to his nose and eye. The person was immediately taken into custody for further inquiry. Upon questioning, he identified himself as Pathlavath Ravi, son of Thaurya, aged 35, of the Lambada community, occupation laborer, residing at HNo.7-52, Donthikunta Thanda, Rukkannapalli village, Ghanapur Mandal, Wanaparthy district, and presently living in Balanagar, Hyderabad. The prompt response and investigation by Hyderabad police highlight their continuous commitment to public safety and law enforcement vigilance.
Further, the accused, Pathalavath Ravi, stated that on the 18th of September, 2025, at approximately 10:30 hours, he met the deceased, Neelam Rajesh, at Hitech City Railway Station with the intention of securing employment. Finding no job opportunities available, the duo resolved to consume toddy at Miyapur. En route to Miyapur, they observed a couple drinking liquor near City Wines, Madhapur. The deceased approached the couple, forcibly took their mobile phone, and demanded money. Consequently, one of the individuals transferred a sum of Rs. 1,000/- (in two instalments of Rs. 500 each) into the deceased’s account. Thereafter, they proceeded to Miyapur where they consumed toddy; however, finding it lacking in taste, they departed the toddy shop and proceeded to Kaithlapur Chourastha. At Kaithlapur, they purchased and consumed half a bottle of liquor.
Subsequently, due to hunger, the accused absconded the scene and returned to Hitech City Railway Station by accepting a ride in a garbage auto-rickshaw. This statement forms part of the ongoing factual matrix under investigation. While he was entering into station, he noticed private construction, he went there and picked one steel rod from there and while going to scrap shop to sell it, mean time the deceased followed him used filthy language and beaten him with his helmet and also he beaten him with a cement brick on his arm and on his nose and eye. As a result, the accused received bleeding injury. Due to un-bearable harassment by the deceased, he vexed and decides to kill him. Accordingly, he has thrown a cement brick on the deceased. The deceased received injury near the ear and fallen down on the platform. Meantime, the accused taken a big size cement brick, hit on the deceased head and he escaped from there by MMTS local train.
While efforts are in progress, today i.e., on 23.09.2025 at about 09.00 while the accused trying to escape from Hyderabad City, the Police party apprehended him at Fethnagar Railway Station.
IRP Hyderabad secured presence of two panchas and recorded his confessional statement and seized the following items from his possession:

2) Seized one blood-stained kerchief from the residence of the accused.
Praveen Kumar, IRP/Hyderabad and Ravi, IPF/LPI with respective staff apprehended the accused person under the supervision of Chandana Deepti, IPS, Supdt. Of Police, Railways, Secunderabad and S.N. Jawed, DSRP/Secunderabad Urban. Sri K. Ramesh Naidu, IPS., Inspector General of Police, Railways and Road Safety, TG, Hyderabad appreciated the officers and men of RPS Hyderabad and they will be rewarded suitably
