Hyderabad witnessed a high-profile visit as Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, IAS, arrived in the city to assess Telangana’s preparedness and execution of the recently introduced New Criminal Laws (NCLs). The review, held with key state officials, spotlighted the robust planning and swift transition led by the Telangana administration.

Among the dignitaries attending the meeting were Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana K. Rama Krishna Rao, IAS; Special Chief Secretary (Home) Sri Ravi Gupta, IPS; and Director General of Police Dr. Jitender, IPS. Senior IAS and IPS officers also took part in the detailed briefing presented to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) team.

During the session, DGP Dr. Jitender and top-ranking police officials showcased the strategic rollout of NCLs, with a focus on officer training programs, public awareness initiatives, and technology upgrades designed to facilitate a smooth transition.

The Union Home Secretary commended the Telangana Police for their efficient execution and proactive approach, particularly praising their advancements in narcotics control. The appreciation marked a significant acknowledgment from the Centre, positioning Telangana as a model for other states embarking on similar transitions.
