Rachakonda Police Recover Stolen Mobiles Worth Rs. 3 Crore, Assist Over 1000 Victims

Hyderabad,6 February,2005. In a major breakthrough, Rachakonda Police have successfully recovered 1,016 lost and stolen mobile phones, valued at Rs. 3 crores, over the span of just one month. Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, the police formed dedicated special teams within the CCS and IT Cell, utilizing the Central Equipment Identity Registry (CEIR) portal for the recovery process.
The recovery breakdown is as follows:
•LB Nagar: 655 mobile phones
•Malkajgiri: 290 mobile phones
•Bhongir: 71 mobile phones
•Total: 1,016 mobile phones
This recent success is part of a broader initiative, with over 1,400 phones recovered in 2025 alone through the CEIR portal.
Today, Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu personally handed over the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners. He interacted with them, gathering valuable feedback on the police’s efforts and the recovery process. Many owners expressed heartfelt gratitude for the return of their valuable devices, praising the police’s dedication and efficiency in recovering their stolen property.

The Commissioner also emphasized the importance of safeguarding personal data stored in mobile phones and encouraged the public to be vigilant. He reminded citizens of the risks posed by criminals using stolen mobile phones for illicit activities and cybercrimes.
Special teams, led by officers like V. Aravind Babu, DCP Crimes, and Karuna Sagar, ACP Crimes, worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this operation. Commissioner Sudheer Babu acknowledged their dedication and directed them to continue their efforts in the future.
