The President of Gujarat High Court Advocates Association Mr. Yatin.N.Oza has addressed a letter to the Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Vikram Nath urging for the physical re-opening of the court while following all required safety measures.
Oza mentions in his letter that “ the Association had circulated an Agenda which was put to vote was whether the Members of the Bar wish to request your Lordship for physical functioning of the court or virtual functioning of the court.”
Oza further adds that he can safely convey that of 2, 400 lawyers whose practice is in ordinarily in High Court, around 1800 advocates had expressed support for the functioning of the Court, whereas the 36% opined that the virtual court functioning should continue. This is discounting the lawyers who were unable to participate in the poll it is note.
This request is made in the backdrop of the Gujarat State administration permitting” almost all commercial activates including opening of malls and hospitality sector apart from places of worship”
